Personal info about my interests (might be a bit out of date, since I'm not updating my website very often ;-):
Besides my work at a major semiconductor company, I additionally worked on a related PhD, and finally - after a few years of hard work - I finished my PhD thesis and the doctoral exam at the Techincal University of Vienna. Therefore, if you are interested in my research topics related to Wireless Sensor Networks and Real-Time MAC protocols, you might check
an additional book based on my PhD.
I started Paragliding in 2003,
and finally, after 2 years of courses
and practice (40 flights), I finished the international admitted pilot's license (in German called "Sonderpilotenschein") for paragliding.
See Gallery for some pictures during my flights...
Riding my motorbike (during summer my wife and me particularly enjoy the view from the small hills in the south of Styria)
One of my passion is going to live music concerts - for sure more than hundred in the past 20 years.
For me (maybe because I was a hobby musician long time ago) no other music - ever - compares to real live music experience!
- Quite often I'm visiting various smaller concerts (typically just a few hundred people) in many different music genres (e.g. Candy Dulfer, Kosheen, Skunk Anansie, Wir sind Helden, Rebekka Bakken, Soap&Skin, Fantastischen Vier, Ja!Panik, La Roux, Awolnation, Selig, Austra,...)
- Sometimes, I also enjoy going to larger concerts as well, e.g.
Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd, Guns'n Roses, Depeche Mode, Alanis Morisette, Metallica, Lenny Kravitz, Sting,...
- And particularly during summertime I also enjoy small jazz and blues sessions (usually spontaneously in my hometown Graz)
Going out in our pubs in Graz and sometimes dancing in clubs (or alternative music clubs) with friends
Longer time ago, one of my hobbies was doing electronic music with my computer and keyboard and playing the saxophone
Since I was studying Telematik and my PhD in Electrical Engineering, I certainly like to program computers and tinker around with embedded systems, especially with Linux-based systems
Finally, like most of us I like some sports (at least sometimes): skiing, sailing, volleyball and recently paragliding
